2025 - Our Biggest Year Yet...
As 2025 draws to a close, we’ve taken a moment to reflect on what has been an awesome year. We’re incredibly grateful to the people who make Coast Optics what it is. We’d be nothing without our loyal customers, our dedicated dealer network, and the best team and ambassadors we could ask for. Thank you.
It’s nearly impossible to pick just a few highlights from such a monumental year, but here we go.
NEW PRODUCTS
2025 saw the release of the Alta 2, Nita XL and Glacier Shields. Feedback from customers and our team helped guide the design, prototyping and molding of these new models last year. We’ve been overwhelmed by the positive response and it’s unreal seeing more of our products out on the trails.
ON THE MOVE…
As orders and inventory grew, it was only a matter of time before we had to move operations out of our living rooms and into a dedicated space. We never thought we’d get this excited about a cold metal shipping container, but it’s home and we love it.
EVENTS
It had always been a dream to make the pilgrimage to California for Sea Otter. What better excuse than to showcase Coast Optics to the US market. So we hired a van, loaded up the bikes and headed south. Tariff wars weren’t our friend, but it was unreal meeting so many like-minded people and feeling the buzz of a festival we’d imagined for so long. Loose shuttle laps in a rental van, our bodyweight in burritos and campfire jump sessions were definite highlights.
We were also stoked to attend and support events closer to home. The BC Bike Show and WORCA/PORCA trail events have been awesome for connecting with the Sea-to-Sky riding community. It’s been overwhelming to see how the brand has resonated locally and how much support we’ve felt from everyone here.
CRANKWORX
On top of an already hectic summer, we had the last-minute opportunity to open a pop-up store at the base of Whistler Bike Park for Crankworx. Having our own store has been a dream since day one, so of course we said yes.
A frantic week of design, signage, stock prep, activations and, naturally, buying an espresso machine had us just barely ready for ten days of non-stop action. The whole experience was a huge success and it was amazing to see so many old and new faces stopping by for a coffee and a chat. Massive thanks to Gradient Coffee and Moguls for the beans and to RMU for hosting our yearly Crankworx party. It was one to remember.
OAXACA
We’d been connected with Javi at Oaxaca Bike Expeditions about a year ago and have been supporting their guides with eyewear ever since. Crankworx gave us the chance to meet in person and when he invited us to join him in Mexico for a week of riding with the Into the Gnar crew, there was only one possible answer.
After giving our buddy, Lachie, a crash course in order fulfillment, we packed the bikes and headed south. The trip blew us away. Incredible riding, unreal food and the best company. It was the perfect chance to unwind after a very full few years. Huge thanks to Yo, Jen, Nate, Greg, Matt, Holly, Harriet, Laura and, of course, Javi and the Oaxaca crew, for an unforgettable trip. See you next year!
TEAM
“You are judged by the company you keep.” Surrounding ourselves with people who share our values and passion has always been huge for us. Building a community instead of ‘just another eyewear brand’ continues to be a driving force. Our team and ambassadors represent that community. Having such an inspiring group of people around the world supporting us is one of our proudest achievements.
There were some amazing team achievements this year: Ruby, Matt and Grant’s Crankworx podiums, Vedangi pedalling around the world (again…), Aven heading to college, Nate’s Scrambled edit, Yo’s Into the Gnar development. The list goes on. And a huge congratulations to our good friend and team member, Jo, whose wedding we were lucky enough to attend. Thankfully we operate a business better than we operate a dance floor hey!?
We can’t wait to share another huge year with you all. We also have some exciting news coming very soon on some new additions to the family!
REVIEWS
It’s been overwhelming to read positive reviews in magazines we grew up reading. Enduro Mag, Bike Mag, The Radavist, Flow Mountain Bike, Loam Wolf and Wideopen all put our eyewear to the test this year and we couldn’t have asked for a better response.
Magazine reviews only tell half the story though. Thankfully our customers have been equally stoked. As a small company, your feedback means the world - both as motivation and as direction for how we improve and push the brand forward.
I think that’s enough rambling for now! Thanks again for making 2025 so memorable. Roll on 2026!
